To the left of the Lopez stream, where a wooden kiosk is located, the trail begins, ascending gently through a wooded area, then the slope increases, and the vegetation becomes more shrubby until reaching a ridge that offers a view of the gained elevation.
Continue the ascent to an intermediate stop called Roca Negra, an ideal place for families or those with little time to walk. From Roca Negra, there is a fork in the road. Take the left one, crossing the 4x4 vehicular road until finding a straight path leading to Cruz del Soldado. Continue there until crossing Lopez stream and walk the last 45 minutes to the refuge.
From the Refuge, you can reach \"Pico Turista\" by walking an additional 1.8 km of high difficulty.
