Frey Refuge

At the base of Cerro Catedral ski resort, a sign with the refuge's name marks the starting point (parking lot).
The trek begins on a vehicle road for the first 300 meters until you find the detour that connects to the main trail. You'll cross some streams, a burned forest area, and glimpse part of Lake Gutierrez
After circling the hill, you'll ascend the Van Titter creek valley. Cross the detour to Villa Los Coihues to find the bridge over the mentioned creek. Continue to the Piedritas bivouac and from there to the Frey refuge. Another access is from Jakob Refuge after a 6-hour trek passing between Claussen and Tres Reyes hills through Brecha Negra pass and crossing Cerro Catedral.
