Passing Colonia Suiza and before crossing the Goye stream, where there is an entrance gate with signs, you start transit on a vehicular road surrounded by Coihue trees. After an initial ascent, it joins an old vehicular road overrun by pines. You cross gullies with streams until approaching the main 'Arroyo Goye.' From there, the vegetation is tall with wetlands until finding a wide area within the forest, 'Rancho Manolo.' From here, the slope begins to rise slowly. You cross the stream higher up to find the steeper area (the snails) and access the refuge.
Another way to access is from Cerro Lopez crossing through the ridge of Cerro Bailey Willis.
